A Collaboration

The Delaware Orthopaedic Symposium is a collaborative effort by The Delaware Society of Orthopaedic Surgeons (DSOS) and Christiana Care Health System’s Division of Orthopaedic Surgery.  It is designed to provide physicians and other health care professionals the highest quality education on the latest advancements in musculoskeletal health and orthopaedic surgery.

 

History

Held annually since 2008, the symposium is the premier orthopaedic education event in Delaware with lectures by nationally and internationally known speakers in orthopaedic surgery, trauma and physical therapy.  This event includes several educational tracks, keynote addresses, a live anatomical dissection, poster presentations, a vendor area and continuing education credits.

Christiana Care’s Division of Orthopaedic Surgery manages all inpatient and outpatient orthopaedic surgery throughout the health system and includes the orthopaedic trauma section and the Center for Advanced Joint Replacement.

The Delaware Society of Orthopaedic Surgeons (DSOS) is a specialty medical education association comprised of orthopaedic surgeons throughout the state of Delaware. Founded in 1982, DSOS engages in health policy and advocacy initiatives on behalf of musculoskeletal patients and the profession of orthopaedic surgery as a whole. The purpose of DSOS is to elevate the standards of orthopaedic surgery and educate the public and the profession with respect to orthopaedic surgical care. 2019 Symposium Accreditation Statement

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of the Medical Society of Delaware and the Delaware Society of Orthopaedic Surgeons. The Medical Society of Delaware is accredited by the ACCME to provide CME activities for physicians.

 

2019 Symposium Designation Statement

The Medical Society of Delaware designates this live activity for a maximum of 3.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.™ Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

 

2019 Symposium Statement of Disclosure and Independence

It is the policy of the Medical Society of Delaware to comply with the ACCME Standards for Commercial Support of Continuing Medical Education. In keeping with these standards, all faculty participating in continuing medical education activities sponsored by MSD are expected to disclose to the activity audience any real or apparent conflicts of interest related to the content of their presentations. Joint providership of CME by MSD in no way implies endorsement of any product or service. This activity is not currently supported by commercial funding.
